South Pasadena Craftsman

Design by Robert Frank: “Previously remodeled in 2005, our goal was to redesign, refresh, and update a family kitchen within the design aesthetic of this original 1909 Craftsman home in South Pasadena. Careful attention was given to the finish choices and use of custom white lacquered inset cabinetry gave the space an open and light feeling. The fixtures included a panel-ready Thermador dishwasher and 36″ Thermador range. Caesarstone counter tops in Raven were used in combination with a rich walnut butcherblock island and adjacent workspace. The cabinetry and countertops were contrasted with a Pratt and Larson watercolor-glazed subway tile — the subway style tile in keeping with the home’s architectural integrity. Plumbing fittings and cabinet pulls were all specified in brushed nickel. The end result was a bright and functional space true to the home’s wonderful vintage style.”
